The Standard is an independent, family-run Indian / Bangladeshi restaurant in the heart of Jericho, Oxford. We have been serving the local community since 1972 and are a well-regarded, popular venue with a loyal following and many regulars. Our focus is on the fundamentals that make a successful restaurant - delivering excellent food and service, reliably and consistently.

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our small, friendly team. We offer a great work environment, excellent level of pay, flexible hours, and accommodation if required. UK Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is also possible.

Your key responsibilities will include:

food preparation during the day in readiness for evening service setting up your service station and maintaining a clean, hygienic workspace working collaboratively with your fellow chefs in delivering quality and consistency during busy service periods maintaining food safety records and standards monitor inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
Successful candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:

proven, substantial experience as a chef extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and food preparation techniques ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and food safety standards knowledge of restaurant operations and hospitality industry standards.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience who wants to further develop their knowledge and experience of Indian / South Asian cuisine. There is also scope to progress to a senior head chef position, in an open environment where being creative and developing your own ideas are encouraged and fostered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 36,000.00-40,000.00 per year
