Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Senior Sous and Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, preparing exquisite dishes, and leading a team of culinary professionals in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food preparation and service. Assist in menu planning and the creation of innovative dishes that reflect our culinary vision. Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes. Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high standards of performance. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Collaborate with the Senior Sous to manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Monitor portion control and presentation standards to enhance guest satisfaction. Participate in serving during peak hours to ensure smooth service delivery.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management. Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure. A passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to foster teamwork within the kitchen. Previous experience in high-volume kitchens is advantageous.
