Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Bellavista. Bellavista is a family run Italian Restaurant with a main Restaurant, Pizzeria and separate Function room.

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef by overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and presentation. A focus on making Italian food from scratch to a high standard. The Sous Chef will be instrumental in managing kitchen staff, inventory, and ensuring seamless food service operations.

Duties

Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative dishes and seasonal ingredients Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production Oversee food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet presentation standards and adhere to dietary requirements Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards within the kitchen Monitor food handling procedures to uphold hygiene standards across all kitchen activities Collaborate with restaurant management on shift management, staffing schedules, and operational improvements Assist in managing the dietary department by preparing specialized menus for dietary restrictions or health-focused offerings
