Job Summary



The Sous Chef is the second-in-command in the kitchen, responsible for supporting the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes. This role plays a key part in maintaining the club's culinary standards, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring the smooth running of all kitchen activities in a high-end private members' club environment.

Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure efficient food production and service. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative ideas. Monitor food preparation processes to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes. Coordinate catering events and banquet services as needed, ensuring exceptional guest experiences. Assist in managing shift schedules to optimize staffing levels during peak service times.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within the food industry, preferably in fine dining or private members club environment Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff. Knowledge of food production techniques, menu planning, and inventory management practices. Familiarity with dietary department operations and food service management principles is a plus. Excellent cooking skills with a focus on food safety standards and proper food handling techniques. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff. Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory; extensive kitchen experience will be considered.
