Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management, demonstrating excellent leadership skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring effective team management and fostering a positive working environment. Oversee food preparation processes to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu specifications. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Excellent leadership skills with experience in supervising and managing kitchen teams. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage but not essential.
