This is an essential position within the kitchen brigade, providing support to the Head Chef and ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation. In addition you will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring out portions.
Support, prepare and cook service, plating and presenting dishes to ensure timely delivery to customers and of consistent high quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen by regularly cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment working to EHO guidance.
Follow food safety protocols to ensure all food is prepared and stored correctly, minimising the risk of contamination.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods.
Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
Skills
Experience or interest in meal preparation within a restaurant or culinary setting.
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is highly desirable.
Basic culinary skills with a willingness to learn and develop further.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks.
A proactive attitude towards helping cooks and supporting kitchen operations.

Foster a positive team atmosphere by promoting teamwork and effective communication among staff
Contribute to catering events and banquet services, ensuring exceptional service delivery
Basic qualifications
Proven experience in a culinary role within a fine dining or high-volume restaurant environment
Preferred qualifications
Strong background in banquet experience and catering services
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising kitchen teams
Familiarity with dietary department operations and menu planning for diverse dietary needs
