We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Jockey Inn. As a key member of our kitchen, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained. Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all food production meets quality, presentation, and safety standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Lead by example in demonstrating excellent food preparation, cooking, and hospitality skills
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Demonstrated team management abilities with leadership qualities
Experience in food production within a restaurant or hospitality environment
Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including serving procedures
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Minimum level 2 food safety
Up to date Allergens certificate
Working hours Wednesday - Sunday
