Job Description

As a Spa Therapist at The Quay Hotel & Spa, you will deliver high-quality, professional spa treatments and therapies to hotel guests and day?visitors. You will create a relaxing and rejuvenating experience, maintaining the hotel's high standards of service, hygiene and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of spa treatments, including (but not limited to) massages, facials, body scrubs, Consult with guests before treatment to assess their needs, medical history, and preferences; tailor treatments accordingly. Ensure treatment rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared before each appointment. Maintain high standards of hygiene, following health & safety protocols at all times. Provide aftercare advice and guidance on products and home-care routines. Promote and sell spa retail products and additional services where appropriate. Build positive relationships with guests and encourage repeat visits, Carry out opening and closing checklists for treatment rooms and spa area, Report any guest feedback, incidents, or maintenance issues to the Spa Manager.

Person Specification / Requirements

Recognised qualification in Beauty Therapy or Spa Therapy (e.g. NVQ Level 3) Proven experience working as a Spa Therapist, ideally in a hotel or luxury spa environment. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and various treatment modalities (massage types, facials, body therapies). Excellent communication and customer?service skills; ability to build rapport with guests. Ability to advise on and upsell treatments and products. Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Professional presentation and a friendly, calm demeanour.

Desirable

Additional holistic therapy qualifications (e.g., reflexology, reiki) or specialisms. Previous experience in upselling or retail in a spa environment.
