Job Description

1.0FTE, 37 hours per week





12 month fixed term contract





This is a hybrid role, you will need to be on campus frequently (typically 3-4 days a week). This will vary with team and project requirements in line with the University's Agile Working Framework.





This role will be based across all the University campuses.




About the department





The Estates Department takes great pride in fostering a thriving physical environment, upholding a standard of excellence in presentation, and supporting our staff and students as well as visitors and anyone who uses our facilities.





Our mission is to provide a professional, cost-effective estates management service that ensures the University's academic and research endeavours proceed safely and efficiently. We aim to cultivate an environment that instils pride in our community, fostering sustainable learning activities for all.





Responsibilities of the department include managing the estates strategy, property maintenance, property management, facilities management, and health, safety, and environmental oversight.



About the role





The Space Planner will make a visible impact on the University's estate, facilities and user experience by contributing to the development of our buildings and external environments.




The role holder will survey and analyse existing spaces, develop options for stakeholder consideration, and update our master record drawings of our land and buildings, which are essential for statutory compliance and reporting. The role holder will also work on our sensors and other systems for understanding space utilisation. The role holder will work closely with academic, technical and professional services colleagues across the University.
