About the role

As a Space Range & Formats Insight Manager you will be responsible for shaping and developing the Range and Micro Space strategic direction for our estate. You will identify key strategic opportunities for Range and Micro Space, prioritising and communicating these opportunities using the right data and insight, challenging, driving and supporting others to deliver against the strategy. You will develop recommendations for the medium and long term strategy, particularly focused around range and formats, using all available data from our Commercial and Partnership data platforms (via Waitrose Analytics) and using data mining, extraction, manipulation and modelling techniques to deliver performance improvements across our convenience channel. With an in-depth knowledge of ranging across different formats, you will build and maintain positive relationships with other key teams and stakeholders and will be able to facilitate and lead teams to deliver the Strategic Range and Space opportunities via the team that are responsible for the building of Range and Planograms for Convenience. This role is known internally as Strategic Range and Micro Space Analyst

Salary

- 59,000 - 110,000 (dependent on experience)

Contract type

- We have one Permanent position and one 12 month FTC/secondment available.

Working pattern/flexible working

- The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team aim for around 2 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.

- This role is based at our Bracknell Head Office.

Key responsibilities



Set clear strategic direction for Range and Primary Space Opportunities for the short, medium and long term for Convenience. Ensure that the strategy is fully aligned with key stakeholders across Commercial and ensure the actions to deliver the strategy are SMART Review and measure the impact of your strategic direction, communicating benefits with key stakeholders and course correcting where necessary and ensure that they are contributing to future strategic direction Commercial business partnering on convenience "range" for all CPGs Develop the road map for convenience range change, provide insight and strategy on the Range and micro space performance back to key stakeholders, support ongoing range optimisation activity and identify range gap opportunity (within clusters) and further shop opportunities from the data. Deliver consistency across range decisions through clear range classes and MCRs Influence and feed into the development of tools, processes and reporting used to make recommendations on ranging and clustering from today and developing the right cluster/right shop strategy - handing off to the RAPs & Space planners or others to build the ranges and land "Right Range" goals following our display principle rules. Feed into business processes, frameworks and tools within your area, continuously improving them to drive efficiency and effectiveness

Essential skills/experience you'll need



Exceptional space and range knowledge and experience in managing and improving Range and Primary Space Performance Experience in setting of and enabling teams to deliver strategic direction Experienced in analytical thinking, data manipulation and modelling, completing detailed analysis and drawing recommendations from multiple sources. Experience in a fast paced customer-centric leadership/influencing role, working under time pressure but retaining attention to detail. Strong judgement in all situations, adapting approach to deliver the best outcome whilst dealing with ambiguity. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Proactive approach towards continuous improvement.
