THE ROLE: Spacecraft Welder Technician

This is a unique opportunity to use your welding expertise on mission-critical space hardware.

As an Welder Technician, you will operate advanced welding systems within our cleanroom facility, producing ultra-precise welds on metals and super alloys that must perform flawlessly in space.
Your work will directly support propulsion systems used in major international missions.

What You'll Be Doing

Operating, monitoring and maintaining welding machinery for high-precision aerospace components Preparing, aligning and inspecting materials to tight spaceflight specifications Conducting visual, mechanical and non-destructive testing (NDT) on welds Troubleshooting welding equipment issues and performing routine maintenance Documenting weld processes, materials, settings and quality data Working closely with engineering, production and QA teams Ensuring full compliance with safety and high-voltage equipment procedures Safely handling acids during weld sample evaluation Contributing to the smooth integration of welding within the wider manufacturing process

What You'll Need

Strong understanding of welding, beneficial if electro beam welding or tig welding Experience with cleanroom assembly or integration Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Proficiency with precision measuring equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Flexibility to meet shifting and ambitious project timelines
Work Environment Requirements

Ability to work in cleanrooms, test facilities and high-hazard areas Manual handling Ladder climbing Kneeling, bending, crouching, walking Working at height Working indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions Comfortable with high-noise environments (hearing protection provided) Working around chemicals, solvents, lubricants, paints and cleaning fluids Occasional night shifts, weekends and holiday work
