We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the academic, social, and emotional development of students with a range of Special Educational Needs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to plan and deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Help students develop essential life skills, communication skills, and social interactions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, promoting a sense of belonging and self-confidence in students.
  • Manage challenging behaviors with patience and a proactive approach, following school policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching staff.

  • A genuine passion for working with children and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor, even in challenging situations.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to your work.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, or a qualification in Special Educational Needs) is highly desirable but not essential.
