Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans (Individual Education Plans - IEPs) for students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Design and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to various learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess and track student progress, using data to inform instruction and report on achievements to parents and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with a team of Teaching Assistants, support staff, and external professionals (e.g., speech therapists, educational psychologists) to provide holistic support.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and offering guidance on how they can support their child's learning at home.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of a variety of SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning community.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage a demanding and rewarding workload.
  • A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
  • Additional qualifications or training in special education are highly desirable.
