About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with Teachers to support students who have a range of learning, physical, and/or behavioral needs. This role is not just about assisting in the classroom; it's about being a mentor, a guide, and a source of encouragement for students who need it most.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and adapt them to suit the individual needs of the students you are supporting.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Foster a positive and safe learning environment, helping to manage classroom behavior and promote social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Assist with personal care needs where required, always maintaining student dignity and privacy.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs, is highly desirable.
  • Patience and Empathy: The ability to be patient, understanding, and empathetic to the unique challenges students may face.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and parents.
  • Adaptability: The flexibility to adapt your approach to suit the diverse needs of different students.
  • Resilience: A resilient attitude and the ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • Team Player: The capacity to work effectively as part of a team, sharing insights and contributing to a supportive school community.
