Job Description

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Vacancy in Horsham.

Key Responsibilities:

Work one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce lessons, clarify instructions and assist students with specific learning tasks
Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom activities
Actively implement positive behaviour support plans and use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and promote emotional regulation
Work as a crucial link between the teacher, parents and external specialists such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists

Qualifications and Experience:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, caring and positive attitude
A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
Previous experience working with children in a school setting
Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or working with children is desirable
