You will work in accordance with Trust and Directorate policies to ensure accurate record keeping, which include initial & risk assessments, formulation and care plans. You will use supervision, team meetings and other forums where systemic and/or organisational matters need addressing.

The successful candidate will deliver high quality, evidence based, systemic psychotherapy to young people between the ages of 0-18 years, their families, carers, and professional networks
You will have access to specialist support and consultation on complex cases that require Forensic CAMHs and Eating Disorders via our relationship within the South London Partnership in addition to our Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviour Services.
You will become part of a well-established, supportive family psychotherapy team and work alongside MDT and systemic colleagues in our service wide intervention clinics. You will have access to video equipment to record sessions for training or development purposes.
There are excellent opportunities to contribute to the development and implementation of service delivery, as well as audit and Quality Improvement projects to increase better outcomes for families with children presenting with complex mental health problems.
You will develop formulations skills through case presentation, clinical supervision, training and regular local/trust wide meetings of the family psychotherapists and systemic practitioners.
The post holder will liaise and work collaboratively with professional networks involved with highly complex, emotive and often conflictual issues such as those involving child protection, deliberate self-harm, violence, trauma, suicide risk, criminal offending behaviour, sexualised behaviour, and mental health problems of parents.

To manage a defined caseload of young people, their families & carers. To co-ordinate & deliver individualised care packages/programmes for adolescents & their families & evaluate these programmes, ensuring high standards of practice in accordance with national guidelines & trust policy. To develop & maintain therapeutic relationships with young people & their families/carers. To liaise with the young person's professional network, keeping them informed of developments, changes in risk status & promoting multi agency collaboration. To involve the young person & where appropriate their families/carers in delivering programmes of care. To be able to assess & manage high-risk adolescent clients in a variety of settings, conducting risk assessments & formulating safety plans . To be an active part of the emergency duty rota weekly, conducting a holistic nursing assessment & developing risk management plans in collaboration with clients who present to A+E in psychiatric emergency. To effectively & appropriately communicate these risks often under difficult, highly charged & emotional circumstances to medical staff, other professionals & families involved in the care of the client . To act as an autonomous practitioner with an understanding of own limitations & recognition of when to seek support. To play an active role in promoting mental health & well-being in young people & their families/carers. To take responsibility for the organisation & facilitation of multi-agency meetings e.g. CPA Meetings, professional meetings, Clinical team discussions. To have analytical & judgement skills to consider the wider implications of decisions made in regards to clients care, taking into account the young person's developmental stage. To be able to demonstrate the ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure taking into consideration the risks to clients, self & others & to be able to assess the often complex situations of these clients & their families within the context of their social environment. Understanding risk & resilience as well as protective factors. To provide training & consultations in specialist areas to other professionals within the trust & to outside agencies, e.g. Social Care, voluntary sector. To participate in individual & group supervision with colleagues in the specialist areas. To maintai n clinic al records in acco rdance with profes sional body standards for record keeping & adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct where applicable as well as Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust policy & procedures on Information Governance. To be aware of the statutory requirements of both the Children Act & Mental Health Act & use these to inform good nursing practice. To ensure that own practice remains within legal, ethical & professional parameters & is open to scrutiny from relevant professionals. To possess IT skills in order to effectively communicate in writing with colleagues, other professionals & families in accordance with trust policies e.g. writing of comprehensive report. To deliver evidence based interventions & undertake routine outcome measures to monitor the quality of care provided, in keeping with the national CYPIAPT framework. To participate in the provision of training and information for other professionals as appropriate in order to promote effective practice in the specialist area. To liaise with other colleagues in CAMHS & partic ipate in di fferent clinical groups in ord er to share best practice & discuss current & future professional & clinical developments e.g. Adolescent clinical forums. To work in close collaboration with the team manager & ensure the health clinic is operating in adherence with good nursing practice guidelines e.g. wound care, physical health monitoring & monitoring medication side effects. To liaise closely with the head of profession to promote good, effective & safe pra ctice within the CAMHS nursing establishment & participate i n the devel opment & promotion of the nursing role within CAMHS.
