Specialist Dietitian Gastroenterology

Wrexham, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are looking for a Band 5 looking for their next step, or a Band 6 looking a change in direction to join our dynamic and innovative dietetic gastroenterology team. You will receive full training and will have the opportunity to develop extended scope skills as your knowledge and skills develop over time. The team has excellent working relationships with the wider gastroenterology team. The role will be mainly outpatient based, with some inpatient cover. There is likely to be the need to travel to clinics around Wrexham and Flintshire. The wider department has around 50 dietitians and dietetic assistants, supported by an administration team. The department supports ongoing professional development, both internally, with our colleagues across North Wales and externally, including study at postgraduate level.
Main duties of the job
This will be mainly an outpatient role. You will see patients with a range of gastroenterology conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and coeliac disease, as well as some patients with liver disease.
There will be some inpatient work covering our gastroenterology ward.
You will need to use several IT platforms, including an electronic patient management system. You will also need to collect patient outcome data and ensure this is entered on the relevant database.
You will work closely with other gastroenterology dietitians, the gastroenterology medical team and a dietetic assistant.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
