Single Homeless Project
is a London-wide charity. Our vision is of a society where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life.
We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change. From supporting people in crisis to helping people take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 10,000 lives every year across all 32 boroughs.
Do you believe every woman deserves a safe place to call home and the chance to rebuild her life? Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of those facing multiple disadvantages?
About the Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker role:
At the Women's Recovery Service, you'll be part of a dedicated accommodation service supporting women who have experienced homelessness, VAWG, poor health, substance use, and exclusion from essential services.
This is more than a job in accommodation services: it is an opportunity to stand alongside women as they reclaim their strength, build new futures and shape their own recovery.
As our Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker you will bring expertise, creativity and determination to help women break down barriers and take steps forward with confidence. Every day is different - from providing one to one support and leading group sessions, to working with health, housing and VAWG partners to open up new opportunities. You will be a voice of encouragement and advocacy, ensuring women get the services and respect they deserve, and you will see the impact of your work in the real changes women make in their lives.
Joining Single Homeless Project means being part of an organisation that believes in your growth as much as the growth of our clients. You will be supported through training, reflective practice and career progression, giving you the chance to deepen your expertise and take your career in exciting directions. This role is your chance to make a lasting difference not only to the women you support but to how SHP continues to lead the way in ending homelessness for women across London.
Skills and experience we're looking for in our Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker:
Experience of supporting people facing homelessness and multiple disadvantage such as domestic abuse, substance use, and poor mental or physical health.
Knowledge of women's services and the impact of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Understanding of how statutory and community services operate, including health, social care, housing and criminal justice.
Ability to engage and build trust with people who may be reluctant to accept support.
Ability to manage a caseload effectively and balance competing priorities.
Our attractive benefits package includes:
A salary increase after successfully completing six month's probationary period
A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am - 4pm) in non-accommodation services
25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 30 days (plus paid Bank Holidays),
A contributory pension scheme: Single Homeless Project will contribute the equivalent of 5% of your annual salary
Staff Health Cash Plan and discounts scheme
Comprehensive and integrated training programme designed specifically to develop the skills and knowledge involved in our work
