Due to a successful business case and external funding we are excited to announce that we are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated pharmacist to manage and develop a high quality pharmacy service to patients within the Trust's Neonatal Unit, part of the Women & Child Health Group. The successful candidate will be embedded within the unit and take a lead on all clinical pharmacy services, ensuring that an optimal, safe and efficient clinical service is delivered with all aspects of medicines safety and governance requirements in place.
We are looking for someone with drive, enthusiasm and commitment. You will have excellent people skills and the ability to work with and influence staff at many levels both internally and externally to the Trust.
It is expected that the successful applicant will be an experienced pharmacist with significant previous experience of working in an acute hospital setting within paediatrics, neonatology and maternity services.
We are a progressive department and are keen to embrace innovative ideas. Following significant investment, our pharmacy department has led the innovations in automated storage (Omnicell) across all areas of our new Midland Metropolitan Hospital, and improved drug security, utilising Abloy keys, across the rest of the organisation. Robotic dispensing is well established and we have successfully implemented Electronic Prescribing and Administration throughout the Trust.
Following our recent move to our new acute hospital site, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, there are exciting times ahead and we are keen to invest in our team so this is the ideal time to join us. Your skills are integral to enabling us to meet our goals.
The successful candidate will be a vital member of the multidisciplinary team supporting the pharmaceutical needs of patients and families within Neonatal Services; this will include opportunities for advanced practice and acting in a non-medical prescriber role.

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWB) serves Birmingham and the Black Country - one of the country's most culturally diverse areas. It's a friendly and welcoming place - a place where you can belong, and a place where you can grow.
We care for our patients, we care about our population, and we care about our people.

Our Trust has always aspired to be more than a hospital, more than a healthcare provider. Our purpose is to "Improve the Life Chances and Health Outcomes of our Population." It is what inspires, drives, and unites us every day. It's what makes us unique.
We want working at SWB to feel like more than just a job. We want our Trust to be a place where you can feel you belong. A place where you feel happy, safe, and rewarded. Visit the SWB website to find out more about our ambitions and people plans.
