We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Specialist Playleader to lead a small team providing a safe, nurturing environment for children with SEND on Term Time Saturdays. Work in some school holidays is also included. The ideal candidate will have a level 3 qualification working with children and be experienced in supporting primary age children with SEND. You will need great organisational skills and leadership skills, with experience in childcare settings and have a good understanding of playwork. As a Playleader, you will play a crucial role in working alongside a small team, engaging with children, and building positive relationships with families.
Duties
Supervise and support staff during sessions to ensure high-quality care and supervision for children.
Plan activities, ensuring they are age-appropriate and aligned with expected standards alongside the playwork principles
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment for both children and staff.
Assist in the training and development of new team members.
Manage staffing rotas to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
Deal with any behavioural issues or emergencies calmly and professionally.
Skills
Proven management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
Strong leadership qualities that inspire confidence in both staff and children.
Experience working with children with SEND
Excellent communication skills, fluent in English, both written and verbal.
A background in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
Ability to drive
