Band 6 Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist
This is the perfect opportunity for a band 5 or 6 who has some experience & wishes to build on skills in the specialty of Community respiratory service. The role provides staff with the opportunity to work as part MDT who truly support each other & work together towards our vision 'Investing in our patient community, empowering them to live well'.
The community Respiratory service offers a range specialist outpatient clinics and domiciliary visits to provide holistic assessment and treatment for patients with long term respiratory conditions. The service also provides comprehensive venue based pulmonary rehabilitation program. We are a multidisciplinary team of specialist nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapist. Our service aims at delivering a multidisciplinary input for comprehensive management of patients with long term respiratory conditions.
We work holistically, towards patient led goals, providing rehabilitation & intervention to maximise patient's potential. Using evidence-based practice & investing in our staff, so they have the knowledge, skills & training to provide this. We provide intervention based on clinical need, utilising each other's expertise & our rehabilitation assistants to maximise our intervention. Main duties of the job
The Sutton Community respiratory service consists of Multi disciplinary team offering specialist, comprehensive assessment & intervention. We work with adults in the Sutton area of South West London who have chronic respiratory conditions. The post holder will be working as part of the MDT in offering structured pulmonary rehabilitation assessments and classes as per local and national guidelines and to undertake timely audit to benchmark the service quality and standards against national QI target. They will also contribute to home oxygen service assessment and review as well as airway clearance therapy for patients who are under the care of respiratory service.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
HCPC Registration
Up to date relevant knowledge through evidence of Continued Professional Development including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to the clinical field
Desirable criteria
CSP membership
Membership of a specialist interest group or network
Recognised post-graduate qualification e.g. MSc in Respiratory Care

Experience
Essential criteria
Post-graduate experience covering core rotations
Post graduate experience in respiratory physiotherapy /pulmonary rehabilitation
Experience of MDT working
Desirable criteria
Previous community experience
Experience in specialist respiratory care including respiratory outpatients, ITU, and medical wards
Experience of undertaking post graduate research projects
