is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated

SEN Teaching Assistant

to support pupils with complex needs, including

Autism (ASD)

and

ADHD

, from

September 2025

. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive support professional with experience in communication strategies and a passion for inclusive education.

Role Overview

Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who have

EHCPs

, including those with ASD and ADHD Confidently use

Makaton

and

PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)

to support communication and learning Implement individual support plans with consistency, care, and structure Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation, using trauma-informed strategies Support learning across the curriculum and help pupils access classroom activities effectively Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure progress and wellbeing
Ideal Candidate Profile

Experienced in supporting pupils with

ASD, ADHD

, and communication challenges Skilled in

Makaton and PECS

and confident using them independently Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a child-centred approach Strong behaviour management and the ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent communication and team-working skills Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and enabling pupil independence
