Job Description

ABC Education is looking for Specialist SEN tutors to work with a number of students throughout Suffolk County Councill (within a 20 mile radius of your home) particularly around the Felixstowe area, as part of alternative provision. We are currently looking for core subjects - English, maths and science. You do not need to be able to teach all subjects but this would be advantageous for hours offered. Students will be aged between 4 and 16 - you can specify your level of teaching.

The hours for tutoring will be during the main school day/term and could be in the student's home, community centre, library or school but will remain in that location for the majority of the placement.

You will be responsible for ensuring students meet expectations and make progress in their outlined provision. ABC Education offers a supportive, nurturing environment for all tutors. We strive to help tutors hone their skills and best practice by offering CPD opportunities and progression within tuition.

Specialist SEN tutors must:

Have QTS or similar recognised teaching qualification

Have a degree or further accredited/in-depth training in specialist area/s e.g. dyslexia, ADHD, Trauma, SENCo.

Have a high level of experience supporting students related to their area of speciality.

Have an enhanced DBS on the update service.
