Who We're Looking For
We are seeking Secondary / Higher-Age SEN Tutors to work with vulnerable and disengaged learners in 1:1, in-person settings across Wigan.
This role is ideal for educators who:

About the SEN/SEND Tutor Role
As a SEN/SEND Tutor at Koji Academy, you will deliver personalised tuition in
Maths, English, or Science
to young people with
EHCPs and complex needs
. Learners are referred by schools and local authorities and require structured, nurturing, and consistent support to help them progress academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions (primarily in person)
Adapt lessons to meet academic, emotional, and sensory needs
Create a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
Support academic progress alongside emotional regulation
Complete clear session notes and progress feedback
Essential Requirements
Must Have:
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
Minimum 1 year experience teaching the UK National Curriculum
QTS or QTLS
Full UK driving licence
Ability to travel locally within Wigan and surrounding areas
Right to work in the UK
Availability during school hours (08:30-16:30, Monday-Friday)
Willingness to work on a self-employed basis
Desirable:
Experience supporting secondary-age SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, MLD, or SLD
Experience working with learners with EHCPs
Two professional references
