This is a fixed term contract till July 2026.
Due to continued growth of our traded and commissioned services, required from January 2025 or earlier, we are seeking to appoint outstanding and creative Specialist Teachers who are highly experienced at meeting the needs of children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and who have an extensive knowledge and understanding of the implications of SEMH for an individual. You will also have relevant experience of working with parents and other professionals and will have worked successfully as part of a team, including multidisciplinary teams.
In this role you will work as part of the Solihull Specialist Inclusion Support Service (SISS) SEMH Team. SISS is a high quality, highly valued local service working closely with Solihull's maintained schools, academies and settings to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs. Working in the SEMH team you will be allocated a number of schools, both primary and secondary. It will be your role to support the educational development and inclusion of the children referred to the team.
The SEMH Team provides a traded service to schools and the work will involve a variety of working scenarios including; individual work, small group interventions, supporting the development of whole school approaches to SEMH and delivering training to a range of audiences. In addition, the team supports children and young people through a variety of commissioned pathways such as pupils at risk of exclusion through the SEMH High Needs pathway, children who are looked after and children and young people with EHC plans.

You will be expected to travel around the Borough of Solihull supporting the schools, children and young people on your caseload.
This is an essential car user post as the demands of the job make it operationally essential and there is a contractual requirement to make a suitable vehicle available to ensure the requirements of the job can be carried out effectively.
Applicants must be able to drive, have a driving licence and be a car owner, however for disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required.
This post will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring check for regulated activity with children.

Full time 35 hours per week. Although this post is advertised on a full time basis, applications for part time and job share will also be considered.
