, blending EYFS foundations.
This role is ideal for someone who brings a
deep understanding of ADHD and PDA
, along with experience in supporting learners who use or are emerging users of
Gestalt Language Processing (GLP)
.
The Role
You will work 1:1 with a bright and curious learner who benefits from a
low-arousal, interest-led learning environment
. Your sessions will be designed to gently integrate core curriculum content while respecting emotional capacity, sensory needs, and communication style.
Teaching will take place across
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
, for up to
10 hours of direct teaching
per week, plus
1 hour of paid time for planning, reflection, and communication
with the wider team.
Your Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to EYFS, KS2, and early KS3 levels
Develop flexible, play-based and interest-led activities rooted in the student's developmental and emotional profile
Support communication using
Gestalt Language Processing-informed strategies
Apply therapeutic teaching techniques suitable for learners with
PDA and ADHD
Create a calm, responsive environment that reduces demand and fosters trust
Collaborate with professionals, therapists, and parents to ensure continuity and meaningful progress
Record weekly updates and reflect on academic and emotional growth
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of
ADHD, PDA, and demand avoidance profiles
Minimum Requirements
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
Degree in education, psychology, or a relevant subject
Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service)
2+ years of teaching or tutoring experience
Availability during school hours on Mon, Tues, and Weds
Experience with or training in
Gestalt Language Processing (GLP)
Background in
EYFS, Primary (KS1/KS2), and/or early Secondary (KS3)
Proven ability to create child-led, play-based, low-arousal learning environments
Comfortable working independently in the home and/or community settings
Clear communication with families and professionals
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: 50.00-65.00 per hour
