We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and Indian Sweets preparation, with a keen eye for detail and creativity in crafting exquisite pastries and desserts. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen and ensuring that all baked goods are produced to perfection.
Duties
Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, cakes, and desserts according to contemporary South Indian recipes.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to during food preparation and production.
Assist in the head Chef in formulating new recipes and contemporary menu items, showcasing seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and communicate needs to the head chef or kitchen manager.
Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure the safety of all products served.
Skills
Proficient in baking techniques and culinary skills with a strong understanding of food preparation processes.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in presentation and execution.

Creativity in developing new dessert concepts that align with restaurant themes or customer preferences.
Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
