The role




Join a collaborative, high-performing team at a specialty (re)insurer where analytical insight drives real underwriting decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to deal pricing and exposure management across a range of lines of business such as Marine, Energy, Aviation, Terrorism and War. As a Specialty Reinsurance Risk Analyst, you will work closely with actuaries and underwriters supporting individual transaction pricing, risk aggregation management and researching novel pricing methodologies. You will benefit from close mentorship with opportunities for progression.

Key accountabilities




Price specialty reinsurance deals with exposures across Marine, Energy, Aviation, Terrorism and War lines. Collect, cleanse, organise and curate relevant internal and external data sources. Apply The Fidelis Partnership's in-house developed modelling methodologies to extract conclusions on both individual risks and portfolios. Clearly communicate analytical insights to underwriters and actuaries. Assist with research into new pricing methodologies by combining internal and external claims and exposure data, with a focus on identifying trends and key risk drivers. Assist in the preparation of exposure management reports for the Specialty Re portfolio. #

Skills & experience




Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mathematics, Science or Economics. Strong intellectual and mathematical acumen, demonstrated by excellent academic results. Strong Excel skills High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritise own work against needs of the business. Strong critical thinking and ability to interrogate data successfully and provide challenge when required. Ability to work effectively both independently and within teams. Ability to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines and work extended hours when required. 1 years' experience across one or more of Marine, Energy, Aviation, Terrorism or War insurance classes. 1 years' experience of using a major catastrophe model such as Verisk or RMS Computer programming capability in at least one major language such as Julia, Python, Matlab, R Database manipulation using SQL Working knowledge of Dynamic Financial Analysis models like Remetrica, Metarisk or similar models #
