We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Speech & Language Therapist to join our innovative new service.
Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality, evidence-based speech and language therapy services to clients of all ages within a private clinic setting in Livingston. This includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of neuro, communication and swallowing disorders.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' communication and swallowing needs.
Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings and evidence-based practice.
Provide therapy to clients with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties, including but not limited to Speech sound disorders, Language delays/disorders, Stammering, Voice disorders, Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), Autism spectrum disorder related communication challenges and Acquired communication disorders (e.g., aphasia)
Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals (e.g., teachers, doctors) to ensure coordinated care.
Provide education and support to clients and their families.
Professional Responsibilities:
Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines set by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
Participate in clinical governance activities, such as audits and case discussions.
Contribute to the development of the clinic's services and resources.
Maintain confidentiality and data protection in accordance with relevant legislation and clinic policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Degree in Speech and Language Therapy from a recognised institution.
Registration with the HCPC.
Membership with the RCSLT (desirable).
Excellent clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Commitment to providing high-quality, client-centered care.
Excellent time management skills.
Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Complete necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
Adhere to relevant professional standards and guidelines.
Research and Professional Development:
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Contribute to research projects and publications.
