Create Education are supporting a specialist school on the Southeast London and Surrey border in recruiting dedicated and compassionate
Speech and Language Therapy Assistants
to join their growing Therapy Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced Therapy Assistants and
graduates or aspiring Speech and Language Therapists (SALTs)
who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. You'll be working alongside Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and SEND professionals who are passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential.
The Role
As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and other SEND requirements to achieve their goals.
You will work closely with the therapy team, class teachers, and families to deliver high-quality interventions through:
One-to-one and small group support sessions
Modelling strategies for staff and supporting classroom practice
Preparing and creating resources for therapy sessions
Collaborating with therapists and school staff to ensure consistent support
This is a
full-time, term-time role (38.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year)
with an additional 15 days as required for meetings or training.
Part-time applicants will also be considered.

To be shortlisted, your experience should demonstrate:
Experience working with children or young people in mainstream or specialist school settings
Understanding of communication and interaction targets
The ability to adapt your communication style to meet individual needs
A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach to supporting learning and development
All therapy staff are provided with a
laptop and mobile phone

in-house supervision
and a
comprehensive induction and training programme
led by a Senior SALT and SEND Lead.
