We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Cardiff, working on a 2:1 ratio. To support their independence and lifestyle, we're seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship.
Main duties of the job
The Spinal Injury Support Worker role involves assisting with personal care, catheter care, bowel management, respiratory management, autonomic dysreflexia management, meal preparation, medication administration, emotional support, mobility assistance, and light housekeeping duties. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, a caring and compassionate nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Spinal Injury Support Worker
Location: Cardiff Salary: 16.25 per hour weekday shifts, 17.25 per hour Saturdays, 18 per hour Sundays Job Type: Zero-hour contract Shifts: 8am-8pm, 7 days per week. Full time/part time hours available.
We also have waking and sleeping night shifts available, 8pm-8am, 7 days per week.

• Catheter Care & Bowel Management
• Respiratory Management (cough assist/suctioning)
• Autonomic Dysreflexia Management
• Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
• Administering medication (training provided)
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Supporting with mobility and physical activities
• Light housekeeping duties

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with Spinal Injury, catheter care and bowel management
• A caring and compassionate nature
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A valid UK driving licence essential to drive the WAV during shifts essential.
