We have an exciting opportunity for a Sport & Leisure Contracts Manager to join us!

This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of 44,355 to 48,446 per annum.

About us:

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) is set in the wider county of Berkshire, one of the most economically productive and innovative areas of the country. The borough council - a unitary authority - takes pride in its exceptional team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing quality services to the community. RBWM is a unique borough, with huge opportunity given its proximity to London and expanding business sectors, as well as being a major cultural and tourism area which includes international attractions such as Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse.

Given our Royal connections, the eyes of the world are often on us and we continue to rise to the challenge.

RBWM recently awarded a 15-year contract to Leisure Focus Trust to manage and improve its six leisure centres, starting this spring. This award is part of the council's new Sport and Leisure Strategy and includes upgrades to facilities like gyms, soft play areas, and sports courts. Additionally, a separate project is underway to upgrade Windsor Leisure Centre with energy-saving measures, funded by a 6.3 million Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme grant.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Sport & Leisure Contracts Manager to join our team delivering neighbourhood services.

The Role:

This role will report into the Service Lead - Sport & Leisure, supporting the strategic planning and service delivery for the overall leisure service and offer, including direct contract management of the Leisure Contract.

Your role will involve:

Ensuring sport and leisure services meet community needs and are accessible to all users. Effective contract and budget management, ensuring required standards are achieved. Collaborating with Public Health to increase participation and improve wellbeing. Support the in-house management of community facilities. Develop social marketing activities to promote leisure services. Managing capital improvement and maintenance works as required. Providing expert advice on matters relating to sport and leisure service delivery. Working collaboratively with a range of colleagues and stakeholders

What we are looking for:

Experience of sport and leisure operations and community-based leisure offer. Ability to devise and develop sport and leisure strategic outcomes. Strong contract, budget and project management skills. Ability to develop strong and effective relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of delivering projects linked to increasing access and participation levels. Ability to develop reports, strategies and produce visual presentations. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. The ability to prioritise and organise a varying workload.

What we offer:

32 days annual leave. Flexible working including a hybrid working pattern for a better work-life balance. Generous Local Government Pension scheme includes life cover (3 times of annual salary); and an Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) scheme to enhance your pension provision. Free employee parking close to the offices. Give As You Earn scheme. Instant Reward Scheme to recognise and reward innovative achievement. Employee Assistance Programme providing counselling, advice and information. Access to discounts and deals with hundreds of retailers, including discounted gym memberships and travel deals. RBWM values a collaborative and inclusive work environment, fostering creativity and innovation in all aspects of its operations. As an equal opportunities' employer, we encourage applications from all as we believe diverse talent makes us stronger. If you have a disability, are a current or former member of the armed forces or have been part of any formal care system up to the age of 25, you will be guaranteed an interview, should you meet the minimum requirements for the role.

Interviews week commencing 29th September 2025
