We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Sport and Enrichment Coordinator to join our team. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sport, physical activity, and wider enrichment activities, with the drive to inspire and engage young people.
As a Sport and Enrichment Coordinator, you will be responsible for designing, organizing and delivering a varied programme of extracurricular and enrichment opportunities, both sporting and non-sporting. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of participation, teamwork, and personal development across our community.
Key Role Specific Responsibilities:
Sport
To participate in enhancing the intellectual and social wellbeing of students to provide
a stimulating sporting experience
To offer bespoke 1:1 or small group support for individual students to include
adapting activities to include those with higher needs
promoting community engagement for those students what would benefit from
accessing community facilities
To manage a referral system into sports for students and liaise with colleagues to
ensure timetables are updated to reflect any changes
To research and develop a database of high-quality clubs that students can access
during the evenings
Take a proactive approach in promoting and engaging students in enrichment
activities and inputting into department initiatives
Undertake the role of gym instructor and ensure the gym is fit for purpose and
adequately maintained at all times
To deliver a range of student sessions between 9.00am - 10.00am, to include
timetabling of these sessions
To deliver a range of client sessions and general exercise sessions throughout the
College day
To support with the running of the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme as and
when required
To carry out any risk assessments necessary to undertake sporting activities
Input into SAR process
To be responsible for recording and monitoring attendance and punctuality data
To be responsible for recording and monitoring student progression data
Enrichment Programme
To work with the wider College departments to plan and deliver a range of inclusive
enrichment events throughout the College year. This would include events such as
the Santa Dash, the Colour Run, Prom, Sports Day and other outdoor gym events
To work with external providers to offer a range of appropriate experiential learning
opportunities through the year.
Contribute to the overall college enrichment strategy and the personal development
of students by working with colleague to ensure there is an ongoing offer of
outstanding sports, leisure and enrichment opportunities that reflects the needs and
aspirations of the current student cohort. Work with students and staff to review and
refine the offer on an ongoing basis through the college's quality assurance
processes.
Enrichment Sessions: 3.30pm - 4.30pm
To coordinate the delivery and timetabling of student sessions typically between
3.30pm-4.30pm each day
Ensure a range of high-quality sessions is available for students to choose from each
term
Coordinate the promotion of the sessions to Personal Tutors and students to enable
effective timetabling
To oversee the student support rota for 3.30pm-4.30pm enrichment sessions
With the wider team evaluate the quality of enrichment sessions
Ensure administration associated with sessions is completed in a timely and
professional manner
Ensure all recording on Databridge is completed in a timely and professional manner
Contribute to any management reporting as required
Person Specification:
DBS clearance (adult and child)
Suitably qualified with Gym Instructor/Personal Instructor and Life Guard qualifications.
Willingness to complete teacher training (Certificate in Education course).
Knowledge of Databridge
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects
Outstanding communication skills with individuals/staff at all levels and the ability to liaise
effectively with other departments
Motivated to maintain professional knowledge and competence
Derwen College Specific Responsibilities:

This is a term time only role (46 weeks). The role will predominantly be from 8:45 - 5pm with occasional work at evenings and weekends and expectation to support with extra curricular activities.
