Job Role



As duty manager you will be the key point of contact during operational hours, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the sports centre and swimming pool. You'll lead by example, supervising staff, supporting customers, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and service

Main duties and responsibilities:



General



To act as duty manager in the Sports Centre during agreed times, this will include evenings and weekends; To supervise the swimming pool during allocated time, ensuring the highest level of health and safety and safeguarding (this will include being part of the rota for Lifeguards); To work closely with the Head of Commercial Enterprise and Director of Operations to ensure all bookings run successfully and portray an excellent reputation and image for the School;

Main tasks - Sports Centre



Act as duty manager in the Sports Centre which will include greeting customers and visiting sports clubs and ensuring the building is locked at the end of the day; Manage the facility booking system (Vivfy) to ensure that all records are maintained accurately, including facility hire and programmes, ensuring year round continuity; Deal effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers; Work with the Head of Commercial Enterprise to make sure procedures are followed with regards to lettings. To follow Health and safety procedures as required as part of the management of the Sports Centre. Update the Risk assessments for the Sports Centre as required. These will be signed off by the Director of Sport. Actively seek new lets for the use of the premises.

Main tasks - Pool



Line manage the Senior Lifeguard / Assistant Pool Manager. Overseen the work of all lifeguards including approval of timesheets and delegating tasks; To act as a Lifeguard on the swimming pool rota minimum 6 hours per week; Advise and participate in the appointment and induction of new lifeguards; To assist with Health & Safety for the swimming pool, keeping accurate records and regularly reviewing processes (including the swimming pool's operating procedures). Supervise the swimming pool in line with the risk assessment. Make recommendations and implement as guidance changes; Effect rescue or other assistance in accordance with the Emergencies Action Plan (EAP); Assist with the organisation of regular monthly training to ensure lifeguards maintain their National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ); Supervise swimmers and other users in accordance with the NOP; Take appropriate action to prevent accidents as outlined in the NOP, and to ensure the appropriate recording procedures are followed; Take appropriate action in responding to emergency situations as outlined in the EAP; Involvement in the operation of the pool plant and associated equipment including the taking and recording of water quality tests. Ensure adequate supplies of stock materials (including cleaning materials, chemicals and first aid equipment;

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal information in line with GDPR and school policy. Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training as required Provide clear, courteous, and professional communication both in writing and verbally. Maintain a calm, empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive or contentious fee matters. Carry out any other reasonable requests from the Senior Management
The position is full-time, all year round. The salary is currently 24,570 per annum. Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum plus 8 Bank Holidays.

The hours of work are 37.5 per week, 2.00pm - 10.00pm Wednesday to Sunday, although some flexibility will be required.
