About the Role
The Sports Centre Duty Officer plays a vital role in the smooth and safe operation of P&E Sports venues. You will ensure that all visitors have a positive experience by maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
This hands-on role involves setting up and maintaining sports equipment, supporting customers of all ages, and ensuring that the facilities are well managed at all times. Duty Officers are the face of P&E Sports on-site, contributing to the delivery of high-quality sport and leisure services across our venues.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Operations
Meet and greet all hirers, ensuring excellent customer service.
Charge admission, take bookings, rent out equipment, handle cash, and answer phone enquiries.
Sell refreshments and promote P&E Sports services where appropriate.
Facility & Equipment Management
Maintain, set up, and store equipment, ensuring it is safe to use and in good condition.
Supervise adults, teenagers, and children using equipment where required.
Oversee rooms and ensure all areas are tidy, clean, and presentable at all times.
Health & Safety
Assist with any accidents that occur and provide first aid when needed.
Follow all company health and safety policies and report hazards or incidents promptly.
Support emergency procedures, including evacuations when necessary.
Teamwork & Administration
Communicate effectively with colleagues, Managers, and other teams.
Support new staff training and maintain accurate records as required.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Line Manager to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
Training & Development
Full training will be provided, including health and safety, first aid, and customer service standards.
Ongoing development opportunities may be available for those looking to progress within P&E Sports.
