Sports Coach - Primary Schools
Are you passionate about sport, fitness, and inspiring young minds? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team, delivering high-quality physical education and sports coaching across primary school settings.
About the Role
As a Sports Coach, you will play a key role in promoting physical wellbeing, confidence, and personal development in children through engaging and inclusive PE lessons and extracurricular provision.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering fun, age-appropriate PE lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and Edstart curriculum.
Coaching a range of sports, including football, athletics, gymnastics, and netball.
Encouraging participation and engagement from all pupils, including those with additional needs.
Organising and supervising extracurricular sports clubs, competitions, and school events.
Working collaboratively with school staff to support the integration of physical activity into the wider school day.
Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Maintaining equipment and adhering to safeguarding, health, and safety policies at all times.
Essential Requirements
Recognised sports coaching qualification(s).
Experience working with children, ideally within a school or community setting.
Strong communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.
A positive, professional, and engaging approach to coaching.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Criteria
Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related discipline.
Up-to-date First Aid and Safeguarding training.
Experience supporting children with additional needs.
Ability to deliver a broad range of sports and physical activities.
