We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in sports and coaching as well as a commitment to educating young children or athletes of varying abilities. This role involves developing training programmes/classes and fostering a positive and motivating environment for participants. Kit and guidance (if needed) will be provided.
We ideally need somebody to run two after-school clubs within the Highcliffe & Hordle areas per week with the option of further work after the Christmas period. You will also have the option of running an element of our Activity Camps alongside a fantastic team if you wish to do so!
DBS is necessary and coaching qualifications/experience is desirable. First aid and Safeguarding courses also desirable, but can be completed following our onboarding process.
Duties
Design and implement effective training programmes tailored to ensuring fun, developmental sessions.
Educate athletes on techniques, strategies, and rules of the sport.
Conduct after-school sessions and holiday camps, ensuring they are engaging, safe, and productive.
Monitor athletes' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their performance.
Foster teamwork and sportsmanship among participants, promoting a positive sporting culture.
Organise and lead sessions
Maintain equipment and facilities in good condition, ensuring safety standards are met.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and head coach regarding progress and development.
Qualifications
Proven experience in sports coaching, teaching or a related field is essential.
A knowledge of the sport being coached, including techniques and strategies is preferable
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate athletes of varying skill levels.
Ability to work well whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
A passion for sports and a commitment to fostering a love for physical activity among participants.
