We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team at a primary school in Thamesmead. The role involves leading a variety of after-school clubs and sports activities, helping children build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy being active. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children, a passion for sport, and the ability to create fun, engaging sessions that promote teamwork, participation, and enjoyment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging after-school sports clubs tailored to primary school children.
Create a fun, inclusive environment that encourages participation and enjoyment for all pupils.
Support children in developing basic skills such as coordination, teamwork, and confidence.
Promote positive behaviour, sportsmanship, and respect among pupils.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children by following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
Communicate effectively with school staff and parents about activities and pupil progress.
Requirements
Experience working with children in a school, sports, or youth setting.
A strong interest in sport, fitness, and youth development.
Good organisational and communication skills.
Ability to motivate, engage, and manage groups of young children in a positive way.
Flexibility to work during after-school club hours.
A sports coaching qualification or relevant training is desirable but not essential.
First Aid and safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake).
