Job Description

A rare opportunity for someone that loves sports or has a sports background to become a part of an Elite Athletics Academy. Experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to obtain qualifications in the athletics field, with the costs covered by us. Earning potential will be subject to experience but there will be an opportunity to increase this over time. You can develop a career within the athletics field. The successful applicant will be working with young sprinters, whilst working as part of a team with the other coaches we have and reporting to the Head Coach.

Duties

Support a lead coach with delivery of a session or lead your own group! Educate athletes on the rules of the sport, techniques, and strategies to improve their performance. Foster a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, respect, and motivation among all participants. Assist athletes at competitions, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed effectively. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during training sessions and events.

Requirements

Proven experience in sports coaching or a related field is essential. Some understanding of athletic training principles and techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire athletes of varying skill levels. The coaching sessions take place on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. Be able to reliably commit to this. Strong organisational skills to manage schedules, training sessions, and competitions effectively. A passion for sports and commitment to athlete development is crucial. Any successful applicants will already be a "Coach" or "Assistant Coach" under the England Athletics Scheme or be willing to work towards this. Some experience coaching is essential, experience as either an Athlete in Track or Field or Athletics Coach will be highly favourable. Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic about sports coaching and have the desire to make a positive impact on young athletes' lives.

Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 20.00-50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 20 per week
