Sports Massage Assessor & Staff Development Officer

Wednesdays: 2:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Sundays: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Last Friday of each month: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (Staff Training Day)
Additional hours may be offered for marking, curriculum planning or internal standardisation
Job Purpose:
To lead and assess learners undertaking Sports Massage qualifications (Levels 3-5) and to support the continuous professional development of Zeers Therapy staff. This role combines teaching, mentoring, assessing, and shaping clinical excellence in line with Zeers Therapy's mission to raise standards in massage therapy practice and training.
Key Responsibilities:Assessment and Teaching Duties:
Deliver engaging and structured practical and theory-based teaching sessions.
Conduct learner assessments in accordance with awarding body standards and internal quality assurance procedures.
Provide timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to learners.
Track and report learner progress using appropriate documentation and digital platforms.
Contribute to curriculum development and updating of learning materials.
Staff Development Duties:
Plan and deliver monthly staff training sessions focused on CPD, clinical skills, treatment planning, and customer service.
Observe and support therapists in clinic, offering coaching and developmental feedback.
Contribute to onboarding of new staff, ensuring they understand clinic policies, SOAP note standards, and brand expectations.
Help identify training needs and create action plans for team development.
Person Specification:Essential:
Level 5 Sports Massage Therapy qualification (or equivalent) BC Sports Therapy. Physiotherapy
Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, or D32/33) Or can work towards with contract paid for courses.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in delivering and assessing massage qualifications
Strong understanding of industry standards, anatomy & physiology, and practical application
Passion for developing others and raising standards within the massage industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
Experience in clinical supervision or staff mentoring
Experience with e-portfolio or online assessment systems
Teaching qualification (e.g. PTLLS, Level 3 AET or higher)
