Role: Sports Science Technical Support Manager

As Sports Science Technical Support Manager at TORQ, you will play a pivotal role in bridging our scientific expertise with our global community of athletes, teams, retailers and end-users. Your remit spans three core areas:

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Support (Sports Science & Nutrition)

Act as first point of contact for TORQ's customers: respond to technical enquiries (endurance training/nutrition) via email, phone and social media. Provide clear, accurate, evidence-based guidance on endurance performance, nutrition strategy and TORQ product integration. Support retailers, both in-person and virtually, delivering educational sessions, training staff, interpreting science for retail environments. Lead event attendance: representing TORQ at endurance events, liaising directly and enthusiastically with existing and prospective customers, sharing our mission and expertise.

2. Athlete Sponsorship & Engagement

Act as the main point of contact for all sponsored athletes and teams -- from assessing potential new partners to coordinating their onboarding and welcoming them into the TORQ community. Manage day-to-day communication between TORQ and its athletes/teams, ensuring messages are clear, consistent and timely. Support athletes needs -- from product to education to performance tracking tools -- and make sure their feedback is gathered and acted upon. Build strong, long-term relationships by setting clear expectations, encouraging open communication and fostering loyalty and mutual trust.

3. Sports Science Marketing Integration

Produce educational content: articles, podcasts, video sessions and other modern media forms to help TORQ's customers understand performance science and how our products fit into it. Collaborate with the marketing team to embed Sports Science support and education as a cornerstone of the TORQ brand identity, aligning messaging and content with our values.

4. Personal Sports Science Development

Stay at the cutting-edge of sports science and performance nutrition: review latest research, attend relevant courses and conferences, integrate learnings into your role and TORQ's offering.

Qualifications & Attributes

Education

: BSc (Hons) in Sports Science (or equivalent). Ideally achieved a 2:1 or higher. Additional coaching or certification in related fields is a strong advantage. Demonstrable background or strong interest in endurance sport (cycling, running, triathlon, mountain biking etc). Ability to interpret scientific data and translate it into actionable, easy-to-understand insights for athletes, customers and retailers. Engaging, enthusiastic and infectious personality -- you love educating others and are passionate about health, fitness and sports culture. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of confidence in written English -- you'll be writing articles, supporting retailers, liaising with athletes. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are self-motivated, and excited to make a difference in a brand built on purpose.

Salary

28,000 - 35,000 pa (depending on experience and qualifications).

Exceptional candidates with relevant expertise or additional certifications may be considered at the higher end of the range.
