Job Description

District Football offers talented youth footballers the opportunity to be selected for a representative regional football teams. Following trials, players will train under outstanding UEFA and FA-qualified coaches throughout the season including at residential Training Camps before they compete internationally at the Gothia World Youth Cup in Gothenburg. This tournament is the most prestigious youth football tournament in the world, attracting teams from around 80 countries. The event includes an Olympic-Style Opening Ceremony attended by over 60,000 people.

We are looking for an experienced individual to join the company as Sports Tour and Event Manager. The role will be mostly remote but will require a minimum of 1 day a week in the office (Loughborough) as well as some weekend hours being required. As Sports Tour and Event Manager you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of all events throughout the season. This is an exciting and hugely rewarding role providing children with an experience of a lifetime through our programme.

- Take ownership of the trials, training camps and trip to Gothia World Youth Cup

- Liaise with third party providers including airlines and accommodation providers

- Be responsible for all travel arrangements including flight and accommodation/hotel bookings, bus transfers.

- Develop new revenue streams

- Complete general administrative tasks as required, including creating team registers and handling any last-minute changes.

- Ensure all information is communicated to customers accurately and in a timely manner including updating our website and customer newsletters

- Manage promotion and email communication and social media content before, during and after events

- Ensure tours are costed within budget and client payments are received on time

- Co-ordinate on-the-day logistics including producing function sheets and support paperwork, briefing staff members, meeting and greeting parents and players.

- Manage a large team of staff including football coaches and sports therapists including the recruitment and enrollment, support during events, ongoing monitoring of qualifications, DBS checks and expense payments.

- Contribute to improving work processes and procedures

- Ensure we are compliant with appropriate tour and travel regulations

- Ensure the health and safety of all players and staff

- Understanding of safeguarding and the well being needs of children within the context of sporting provision and engagement.

- Work within budgets and assist with financial analysis to manage costs and revenue.

- Be confident in planning and managing events

- Have exceptional administration skills with the ability to multitask.

- Have the ability to provide exceptional customer service.

- Have strong project and managerial skills with attention to detail

- Be self-motivated and able to work independently

- Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience working with prestigious clients or within an independent school environment will be advantageous

- Have the ability to keep calm and manage people

- Have knowledge of booking flights, ATOL and travel bookings systems would be advantageous.
