Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the grounds team at our beautiful 70-acre setting. The purpose of this role is to maintain and develop the upkeep of grounds in a small community feel school. This includes the outdoor sports facilities, playgrounds, buildings, gardens and landscapes. You will be part of a small team including the Grounds Manager and the Facilities Manager, all working together to support the schools Grounds and Facilities.
This role will report to the Grounds Manager of the school. St Neot's Prep School is part of the Lord Wandsworth Group and as such may be required in working hours to visit the Lord Wandsworth College for training or work.

Role responsibilities:



Preparing and maintaining a variety of sports pitches and surfaces to a high standard. Including initial line marking for all summer & winter sports. Preparation and upkeep of lawns and decorative areas - mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, pruning and weeding. Removal of litter, leaves and rubbish across the whole site. During the winter, ensuring that footpaths and parking areas are safe for pupils, staff and parents to access; this could require an earlier start if required. Supporting all events in the school which may include putting up staging, marquees and assisting with the setup of major school events such as the annual production, sports day and the summer concert. React accordingly when maintenance is required around the school, or when support is required by the Facilities Manager. To carry out additional duties and tasks that may be required within the range of the responsibilities of the post. Completion of mandatory training and an opportunity to complete more CPD. Completing work to a high standard ensuring preparation and completion.
