Applications are welcome for ST3+ in General Medicine based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe.
The successful applicant will join an existing team Consultants; STHs and other junior medical and nursing staff on the wards.
The post holder is responsible for the care of patients on the inpatient ward and there will be an opportunity for Outpatient clinics subject to level of experience. The latter will consist of assessment of new patients and review of "follow-up" patients. The successful candidate may also be required to review patients in other wards who have been referred to a Consultant and advise appropriately.
The post is offered at 40 hours per week, which will cover ward work/rounds and outpatient clinics for the suitable applicant.
There is also a commitment for the post-holder to participate in a general medicine on-call rota which complies with the working time directive and includes days, evenings, nights and weekend / bank holiday on-call duties on rotation.

The post holder will be required to undertake Continued Professional Development (CPD). The Trust supports the requirements for continuing education as laid down by the Royal College, and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities. In addition the post holder will be required to attend mandatory and essential training in line with the Trust policy.
