The successful candidate is required to work 15 hours per week during term time (generally x3 hours per day, but this may require flexibility depending on the needs of the business). During school holidays, the successful candidate may be required to support with additional hours which will be paid in addition to the salary and can be completed from home.

Overview:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive
Staff Recruitment, Retention, and Training Administrator
to support the recruitment, development, and wellbeing of our dedicated school staff. This important role ensures that our recruitment processes are compliant with Safer Recruitment requirements and are efficient, our training schedules are current, and our team members feel supported and valued throughout their employment journey.
You will be a key member of our larger administrative team, working collaboratively with the Executive Board, HR, and Health and Safety to ensure smooth, people-focused operations.
This role would suit someone with previous experience in an education setting or an administrator in an educational capacity. Relevant and necessary training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
Ensure all staff vacancies are posted and advertised in line with Safer Recruitment guidelines.
Organise and coordinate interview logistics and candidate communications.
Complete all recruitment administration including pre-employment checks, contract preparation, and onboarding documentation.
Complete Safer Recruitment training and support on the interview panel in an administrative position if required.
Oversee staff induction programmes and ensure probation reviews are scheduled and completed.
Maintain accurate records of all recruitment and induction activities.
Liaise with EHT to ensure the recruitment process is effective and efficient. This may include diary management and external liaison.
Retention and Staff Support:
Schedule and conduct exit interviews, identifying patterns or concerns for leadership review.
Facilitate return-to-work interviews after staff sickness, referring to HR or Occupational Health as appropriate.
Ensure all staff receive regular 1:1 supervision with their line manager, supporting scheduling and follow-ups.
Promote and coordinate opportunities for staff to access wellness and wellbeing support services.
Manage a School Retention Action Plan and share and develop this with the Executive Board on a termly basis.
Training:
Allocate and track completion of onboarding statutory training for new and existing staff.
Monitor all staff training records, ensuring certifications and renewals remain in date through timely allocation and follow-up.
Schedule training sessions and liaise with internal and external training providers.
Maintain a proactive approach to professional development across the team.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Many of our students face significant challenges and most have an EHCP. Our students may demonstrate challenging behaviour. We require any successful candidate to engage positively with applicants, students, parents, carers, and other professionals at all times, in line with our trauma-informed ethos. Due to the nature of our setting, we require
all staff
to undergo training in ACES and in Positive Handling (Level 2) within 6 months of employment start date.
The successful candidate will have:
An understanding of child safeguarding (Keeping Children Safe in Education), particularly in schools.
A minimum of 2 years in a similar position, ideally within the education sector.
Excellent communication skills demonstrable in writing, as well as a clear, professional, and polite phone manner.
Proven administrative experience in a busy, people-focused environment.
Knowledge of recruitment procedures and safer recruitment practices (education sector preferred).
Strong organisational, time management, and diary coordination skills.
High level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
Confident using Microsoft Office and cloud-based administrative tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Understanding of the importance of staff wellbeing and development in a school setting.
Essential Criteria
GCSE English and maths Grade 4-9 or AS/A Level or equivalent
Minimum 2 years experience working in administration
Thorough knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation (further training will be provided)
Understanding of effective prioritising and time management
Proactive approach to diary management
