Brief Description

Support the Station Manager in the delivery of a first class station environment to Train Operating Companies (TOCs), passengers and retailers.

We are looking for a Station Support Assistant to join our team based within the Western Route at Bristol Temple Meads Station. Reporting into the Station Manager (Reading and Bristol Temple Meads), this is a wide ranging role whereby you will support the Network Rail team in delivering a safe operation of the station whilst also supporting in driving improvements at the station for passengers. Typical duties will involve supporting or leading on safety and customer experience projects within the station, leading on charity and event booking requests at the station and supporting the Station Manager / Station Operations Manager at meetings. We are looking for an individual who has strong stakeholder relationship skills, a drive to implement change for the benefit to station users, good verbal and written communication skills and is very organised. Previous experience of working in a station (or similar customer experience and operational environment) would be advantageous but not essential.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities:

\xc2\xb7 Undertake general office administration including the control of mail, co-ordinating of diaries, filling and maintenance of personal records and the arranging of travel.

\xc2\xb7 Organise meetings and the production and dissemination of documentation to support them.

\xc2\xb7 Adhere to financial and procurement procedures and act as local purchasing agent, where directed, by ordering stationary and other consumables as required.

\xc2\xb7 Collate customer information requirements and monitor that all station information and publicity material is in date and adheres to company guidelines.

\xc2\xb7 Assist in gathering information regarding accidents, incidents and claims and liaise with relevant parties.

\xc2\xb7 Arrange access for filming and assist with arranging exhibitions and promotions on the station.

\xc2\xb7 Record toilet turnstile revenue and report discrepancies in accordance with company policy.

\xc2\xb7 Order, control and issue Personal Protective Equipment and Rule Books for the station team.

\xc2\xb7 Undertake administrative tasks as directed.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Essential

\xc2\xb7 Good written/oral communication and interpersonal skills

\xc2\xb7 Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work effectively

\xc2\xb7 Experience in the use of company IT packages.

Desirable

\xc2\xb7 A high standard of accuracy and speed in audio/copy typing
