We are currently recruiting experienced
Steel Erectors
for a major long-term civil engineering project based in Irvine, Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity to secure consistent work with a well-established contractor.
Steel erectors are responsible for
assembling and installing the steel frameworks
that form the skeleton of buildings, bridges, and other large structures. This role involves
working at height, handling heavy materials, and ensuring the accuracy and stability of steel frameworks
in line with technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Erecting and assembling structural steel in line with technical drawings and specifications
Positioning steel sections using cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
Carrying out welding and bolting tasks (primarily stick welding techniques)
Using a variety of hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and joining metal components
Ensuring all work meets quality standards and complies with site health and safety procedures
Inspecting completed structures to verify alignment, accuracy, and stability
Following strict health and safety protocols when working at height and on-site
Requirements:
Valid CSCS card
Proven experience in steel erection or a similar role
Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings
Skilled in welding, bolting, and metal fabrication techniques
Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding, manual, and outdoor role
Comfortable working at height and using safety harnesses and fall-arrest systems
Willing to comply with random drug and alcohol testing as part of site policy
