Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Steel Erector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and welding, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. As an Steel Erector, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing metal structures and frameworks. Your expertise in various welding techniques and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring the integrity and safety of our projects.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to blueprints and specifications Perform MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding on various materials Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines for fabrication tasks Conduct rigging operations to safely lift heavy materials using cranes or forklifts Measure and cut metal components using calipers, micrometers, and basic math skills Install ductwork, piping, and other metal fixtures as required by project specifications Ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards throughout all work processes Maintain a clean and safe work environment on construction sites

Skills

Proven construction site experience with a focus on Steel Erecting Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, and other welding techniques Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation Experience with fabrication processes including machining, soldering, pipe threading, and assembly Competence in using various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Knowledge of rigging practices for lifting heavy materials safely Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: 24.00-24.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
