Overview

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the assembly and installation of iron and steel structures, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Assemble and erect metal structures, including beams, columns, and trusses. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications. Use power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and join materials. Perform welding tasks as required for structural integrity. Conduct heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials on-site. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to ensure project completion. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times. Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Experience

Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred. Familiarity with commercial driving may be advantageous for transporting materials. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Experience with heavy lifting techniques and physical stamina for demanding tasks. Proficiency in using various power tools and hand tools relevant to ironworking. Previous experience in roofing or masonry work would be considered an asset.
