Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel and metal fabrication, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As an Ironworker, you will be responsible for the assembly and installation of iron and steel structures, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

IPAF Card - preferred Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. Assemble and erect metal structures, including beams, columns, and trusses. Use various tools and equipment such as cranes, hoists, and welding machines to manipulate heavy materials. Ensure all safety protocols are followed while working at heights or in hazardous conditions. Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met. Perform inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with design specifications. Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Skills

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Strong knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication processes. Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively. Excellent physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy loads and work at heights. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Previous experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
